BUILDING BONDED FAMILIES

Your In-Home Postpartum,
Newborn and Lactation Experts

YOU GOT THIS, AND WE'VE GOT YOU.

Welcoming a baby into your world is an experience like no other. The thought of bringing a newborn into your home and being responsible for all of their needs, can be both exciting and overwhelming at the same time.

At My Happy Newborn, we don’t just look after your baby. We look after you as a family, helping you to feel empowered and confident as you begin your parenting journey.

Having in-person support from a Newborn Care Specialist or Postpartum Doula will help to free you from the overwhelm, so you can enjoy all of those special newborn moments, building memories to last a lifetime.

When parents feel confident and empowered, babies feel safe and secure.

While my role is in part to help educate parents, my ultimate goal is to impart strength as well as wisdom. The gift of confidence truly makes a difference - when parents feel confident and empowered, babies feel safe and secure. Educating parents on how to establish healthy habits for their new families from the very start is key to their success!

MY SERVICES EXTEND TO FAMILIES IN THE GREATER BOSTON VICINITY, NORTH SHORE & SOUTH SHORE AREAS, WESTERN & CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS, NEW HAMPSHIRE, AND RHODE ISLAND.

THE FOUNDER OF MY HAPPY NEWBORN.

Caring for babies and families has been a lifelong passion for me. For over 20 years I’ve supported families in a variety of ways. Those early moments and ‘firsts’ are so precious. I love how my role enables parents to make the most of every one of those moments and I get to see them too.

More recently, as requests for my services have increased, I now have other professionals working alongside me, to provide even more specialized care for you and your growing family in the postpartum recovery period. They’ve been carefully chosen for their passion and dedication, as well as for the skills and experience that they bring.

I will continue to work directly with families in their homes too, wherever possible – I wouldn’t have it any other way!

ABOUT US

MY NURTURING INSTINCT SHONE THROUGH FROM A VERY EARLY AGE. MY MOTHER MADE ME A DOLL WITH BRAIDED ARMS AND LEGS AND RED HAIR TO MATCH MY OWN. WHEN I PLAYED WITH HER, I RECALL HAVING SUCH EMOTION WELL UP INSIDE ME WITH GENUINE LOVE AND CONCERN FOR HER. I KNEW THEN THAT WHEN I GREW UP, I WAS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF FAMILIES AND THEIR BABIES.

Being the eldest of 6 sisters, I learnt early on about the physical and emotional needs of babies and toddlers and the demands of family life. I grew up being able to soothe, comfort and care for my younger sisters and being a helping hand for my parents.

I started as a nanny, supporting families who were just welcoming their new born into this world. I loved being a companion for mom, helping out around the home and snuggling and caring for the baby. I grew such a strong bond with the families, that they often kept me on as they went on to have more babies. I loved my role and I did all I could to educate myself, so, if and when problems arose, I was a source of knowledge and comfort.

When I’m not working with clients, I love spending time with my husband, who I married 25 years ago. We both love spending time outdoors and I find it’s the perfect way for me to relax, unwind and re-energize.

My passion and experience have always been and will continue to be at the heart of My Happy Newborn.

Working With Us

We love being welcomed into the heart of a family to help to provide physical and emotional support, baby care, advice and guidance, for as long as we are needed. In recent times, the services of Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Care Specialists have been more widely sought after. We are trained professionals who are by your side during the postpartum period, offering emotional, physical and informational support to a birthing person and family.

YOU HAVE HEARD THE EXPRESSION “RAISING A CHILD TAKES A VILLAGE.” I’VE NOW GROWN A TEAM AROUND ME, TO ENHANCE THE SUPPORT I CAN PROVIDE FOR THE FAMILIES I WORK WITH.

I’ve hand-picked my team of Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Care Specialists from people like myself - loving, nurturing individuals, who are naturally drawn to caring for babies and families. You can’t teach empathy in the way that you can teach someone how to put on a diaper and I instinctively know who I’d trust to look after my family and yours.

As a team, we communicate openly and share our wide range of knowledge, skills and experience with each other, as well as with the families we work with. This approach enables us to provide a caring, reliable and professional service and continuity of care for you and your family for as long as you need us.

”Our intent is to give a wholehearted endorsement and recommendation for Denise as a Newborn Care Specialist.. My family and I had the opportunity to engage with Denise over the course of 2+ months. Right off the bat we knew she was a godsend. Most importantly, she demonstrated genuine love and care for our newborn daughter. She was attentive, affectionate, and gentle with her and clearly knew what she was doing. As nervous first-time parents, she gave us complete confidence that our daughter would be in good hands overnight while we slept. In addition, she automatically and proactively took care of all chores related to the baby, such as washing her clothes, cleaning bottles and the breast pump parts, etc. She also went above and beyond to find ways to help the entire family out and make our lives easier, such as picking up around the downstairs area and making our place look lovely and normal again or putting together my pump parts so they were ready and waiting for me when I dragged myself out of bed in the middle of the night. She was also a source of insight and guidance for my husband and me – whenever we had questions about care for our daughter, she had helpful suggestions, or if she didn’t know, she did the research to point us to answers. We appreciated her so much, in fact, that we asked her if she might consider staying on as a full-time nanny (but that is not where she is in her career at this time, unfortunately for us)!”

”Thank you so much for your warmth, support and advice through the first few weeks of Maddie's life. Your expertise has been invaluable and we will miss you!”
